Tips from international model, Adau Mornyang!

We had the pleasure of having an exclusive chat with our exotic South Sudanese model, Adau Mornyang.

Mornyang was kind enough to share her inspirational background and even had a few inexpensive tips for aspiring models.

Her career in modelling kicked off; when for the”fifth” time she was encouraged to pursue modelling.  Her ‘nothing to lose’ mind set fuelled her confidence to strut down the runway with incredible composure.

Mornyang was awestruck by her online shoot for Valentino in New York, 2016, where she describes the production as “exhausting yet motivating”.

“Although I was standing on an uneven platform for nearly three hours, it was truly an honour to be part of a process that conveyed such a chic end product”.

The unconditional love she has for her family is what ultimately drives her as a model.
“I want to make a difference for my family and modelling is an opportunity that allows me to improve my family’s lifestyle”.

As an inspirational figure in her community, Mornyang dedicates her time by connecting with her young fans by offering guidance by giving advice to them.

“Getting a no from clients” is one of the biggest challenges Mornyang faces in the industry.

However, experience has taught her to have a neutral attitude and appreciate the work she is offered.
To anyone who aspires to be a model, “Always have patience and enjoy the process of your journey more than the end result”.

“In this industry it is crucial to have the right manager. Stephen Bucknall and the team at FRM have certainly ensured an ongoing successful future comes into play”.

We would like to wish Adau the best for her latest venture into the Miss World Competition Australia.

April Model of the Month: Penny Mitchell

As the month of May has begun, the time has come to introduce April's Model of the Month, Melbourne based, Penny Mitchell. Penny was discovered whilst shopping by FRM Director, Stephen Bucknall. With striking features, including her gapped front teeth and big blue eyes, Stephen immediately saw Penny slotting into the market as a high-end model, with a commercial component.

While a new face at the agency, Penny describes modelling as “something I had always
wanted to do… I would regret it if I never tried.” She believes she is most suited to photographic work with her dream being the opportunity to model overseas. This dream may become a reality in the near future with Stephen currently looking at overseas offers for Penny and planning the year ahead.

When she is not modelling, Penny enjoys dancing, drawing and surfing. She says her favourite way to spend the weekend is at the beach and her favourite place to visit is Broome, Australia. Penny is currently studying at university. In five years time she hopes to have completed her degree and be living in Melbourne, working as a Veterinary Surgeon.

When asked about the items she can’t live without, Penny revealed, she never leaves the house without jewellery and eyeliner. Penny describes her personal style as “beachy in summer” and is inspired by model, Jessica Hart. She admits that her dream job would be modelling swimwear.

March Model of the Month - Ann Alyce Hill

The March Model of the Month is our ‘IT’ girl Ann-Alyce Hill. After she had finished school her parents, family and friends were always suggesting she start modelling but she had many doubts. Finally she was convinced to attend a local modelling competition where she made it to the final and met FRM Director Stephen Bucknall. She is now very grateful that her family and friends pushed her!
“Unfortunately I don’t have the height for runway, but I can make do”.  Her most notable jobs include her on going work with Puma and her favourite campaign with Review “It was an awesome team, very encouraging and relaxed”.

We asked Ann-Alyce what her dream job in the industry would be, she responded “Ummm… I’ve always looked up to the Seafolly models, they get to work in (what appear to be) amazing locations and try the stunning bathers.”.

To stand out from the crowd “I think that my bubbly personality captures peoples attention at castings. People can recognize that I’m a happy and fun loving person at castings so I suppose the clients hope that comes out in the camera too.”

She notes that her personal style is “forever changing. Finding inspiration from other models through social media is so easy to access and getting outfit inspo from other people. But I love basics that’s for sure”. Ann-Alyce tells us she doesn’t have a favourite designer but she finds it best to invest in basics from Country Road and Witchery.

Ann-Alyce’s fashion inspiration is Jennifer Hawkins; “She’s fit and healthy, even when she’s working out she looks immaculate". Ann-Alyce could not live without her sunglasses and her Clinique 3 step skin care, “I’ve been using it for about a year now and I don’t know what I did without it.”

When Ann-Alyce isn’t in front of the camera you can find her living her double life as a nurse, or at Mt Martha beach. She loves trying new restaurants, wakeboarding, keeping fit and coffee dates with friends – “I drink a lot of it when catching up with people”.
Her favourite destination is Croatia, “I’m definitely a beachy girl so being on the water there was amazing”.

“I’m not sure what the future holds, but I just hope I’m happy. I’ve got an amazing family and friends and I’m excited to see what the future holds”.

Aimee Elspeth - FRM Model of the Month

Aimee Elspeth is FRM’s model of the month! Discovered by director Stephen Bucknall whilst shopping with her mother in the fruit and vegetable section, Aimee Elspeth was swept into the industry and hasn’t looked back since. As a young girl, Aimee would put on runway shows down her hallway. Giggling as she spoke to us, she described how she would return from shopping with her mother and try on her new clothes to parade on her runway for her dad.
“I’m very easy going and active”. In her spare time, you can find Aimee practising yoga (she is currently training to be an instructor) or at her favourite local Japanese restaurant. In five years time, Aimee hopes to be working overseas signed to international agencies, completing a course in nutrition and yoga instructing.
Aimee’s favourite designer is Marc Jacobs however she states that “I like to change my style all the time” as her fashion inspirations vary from Cara Delevingne and Miranda Kerr. She explains that Maybelline BB cream is her go to item and the fashion item she couldn’t live with out is her “Shoes! Definitely my shoes!”
Aimee’s most memorable moment in the industry so far was being apart of the Pink Gala for the Cancer Council. “It was a really great cause and I had so much fun there”.
Ending our interview with Aimee, she asked to include her favourite quote “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who matter don’t mind and those who mind don’t matter”…”Haha yes it is Dr Suess”.
